Welcome to the website of the Worthing Probus Club
The Worthing Probus Club was founded in 1973 and is a member of the world-wide association of Probus clubs. The Probus organisation is a worldwide network of clubs for persons retired from the professions, businesses, and the public sector. These clubs enable members to get together to enjoy fellowship and social contact at meetings, visits, and other events. It is a loose organisation of clubs, which have considerable freedom in running their affairs and the activities they provide for their membership. The clubs are non-political.
In 2023 the Worthing Probus Club celebrated its 50th anniversary!
The Members meet every month for lunch at The Burlington Hotel, normally on the third Wednesday. A pleasant two-course lunch is followed by a talk by a speaker on a wide range of interesting subjects.
Mid-summer and Christmas lunches are grander, three course affairs.
Monthly coffee mornings are held on the first Wednesday of each month.
We also have an active social programme, which includes:
- Theatre trips – both professional and amateur
- Sunday lunches at different local restaurants
- Day excursions
